Union County Orthopaedic Group Joins Ortho Alliance NJ

Now a division of the largest orthopaedic private practice in New Jersey.

Union County Orthopaedic Group officially formed back in 1981, when Dr. Morton Farber & Dr. Walter Pedowitz joined their practice with Dr. John Kline’s practice. At that time, they understood how the community would benefit from them coming together as one. A few short years later, they were joined by Dr. Richard Mackessy, and the practice has continued to grow ever since. From that day forward, the landscape of medicine has continued to change. Even with the changes, we have always remained focused on providing the highest standard of orthopaedic care and improving the overall patient experience. Now, 40 years later, we are excited to announce the next step in our long journey.

Union County Orthopaedic Group has joined forces with six other leading orthopaedic practices in New Jersey to form Orthopaedics New Jersey, LLC dba ORTHO ALLIANCE NJ.  As a division of what is now the largest orthopaedic group in the State of New Jersey, rest assured that Union County Orthopaedic Group will continue to provide the same personalized, high-quality care that you have come to expect from our private practice, but with greater resources at our disposal.

Union County Orthopaedic Group will maintain our existing office locations, contact information, physicians, and staff.  This means you will enjoy the same comfortable relationships with our physicians and office staff at the very same locations you have always visited. You will be able to call our same office numbers and make an appointment to see the same physicians you have always seen. The changes that you may notice will be our new logo, signage, letterhead, appointment cards, and the way our name shows up on your insurance plan’s Explanation of Benefits (you will see ORTHO ALLIANCE NJ on our letterhead, business cards, website, and signage, but we will show on your Insurance EOB as Orthopaedics New Jersey).

Here are a few things about ORTHO ALLIANCE NJ we think you’d like to know:

The group unites over 100 like-minded physicians from seven established, highly respected, orthopaedic medical practices in more than 25 locations statewide, which includes:

  • Brielle Orthopedics, based in Brick, NJ
  • Orthopedic Institute of Central Jersey, based in Manasquan, NJ
  • Princeton Orthopaedic Associates, based in Princeton, NJ
  • Ridgewood Orthopedic Group, based in Ridgewood, NJ
  • Shore Orthopaedic University Associates, based in Somers Point, NJ
  • Union County Orthopaedic Group, based in Linden, NJ
  • University Orthopaedic Associates, based in Somerset NJ

All the physicians of ORTHO ALLIANCE NJ are committed to serving their communities with expert, state-of-the-art orthopaedic care in all areas of specialization. What makes us different from other large group practices is that we meaningfully embrace the private practice model and commitment to personalized patient care, while setting the highest expectations for superior patient outcomes and the practice of orthopaedic medicine. All of our physicians also share their commitment to being accessible at all times to patients, creating an individualized treatment plan for every patient, and treating patients in their own communities close to home. But now, as part of ORTHO ALLIANCE NJ, our physicians will also be able to share best practices for treating patients, research, knowledge and expertise with the other physician members of the new practice. We strongly believe that this kind of collaboration will greatly benefit our patients.

Since all the physicians within ORTHO ALLIANCE NJ are board-certified, board-qualified or fellowship-trained — some are even double-fellowship-trained — and are known as leaders in every orthopaedic specialty, patients will have access to the top physicians in every orthopaedic subspecialty in New Jersey.

As we practice medicine in an environment that is often referred to as the “New Normal,” we also want to assure you that all the physicians and staff that comprise ORTHO ALLIANCE NJ are equally dedicated to adhering to the most stringent safety standards for our patients and employees alike.

We couldn’t be more excited about the opportunities this affiliation will bring.  If you have any questions or would like to make your next appointment, please don’t hesitate to call our office or Request an Appointment online.
